2 months!

Note: My computer has been on the fritz, so this is a late update due to that...but the picture and the stats are true to Isa.bel's 2 month birthday! (June 21)


*You weigh 12 lbs, 3 oz. You are 22 1/4 inches long. You were 75th percentile on weight and head size and 50th percentile on length. :) You got your 2 month shots and only cried for a bit. Tough girl!

*We are finishing up our last pack of Size 1 diapers and then you will start 2's. This makes your Mom a little sad for some reason, I guess it's because you are growing SO FAST and I want you to stay little for a long, long time!

*You wear 3 months, and 3-6 months sized clothes. Your closet is unreal! It is starting to resemble Mommy's closet and that is not good for the bank account!

*You eat 4 ounces every 3-4 hours in the daytime, take a 5-6 oz bottle around 9pm and again at 4am and then we go back to sleep until time for Mom to get up for work. This has become the routine with the exception of usually one day a week when things get off track.

*You are so funny! You grin all of the time and now you're starting to coo and talk to us, especially when we leave the room for any amount of time. It's like you're saying "Um, hello--I'm still in here!" When you are in your car seat, if you're awake, you are just talking it up and kicking your feet!

*You LOVE to take a bath and you just grin and splash, but you HATE to get out of the bath and have lotion rubbed on you. It ticks you off big time!

*Your eyes are still dark blue. They are so pretty! In some pictures they actually look brown because the blue is such a dark color.

*You still have very little hair and now we are seeing the "waller line" in the back where it's coming out. You are gorgeous even with your little old man hairdo. :)
It looks like you may have auburn hair, which is what your Momma has too!!

*You still like your soothie pacifiers. And so does Pedro. He has chewed up 3 now and we're not even sure how he is getting them. He is a sneaky little Chihuahua.

*You have gotten better about not fussing when we put you down. I think you like your freedom to kick and squirm.

*You LOVE tummy time, actually it usually puts you to sleep. Your neck is very strong and you pick your head up and look around, but apparently it wears you out. haha

*You just started sleeping in your crib in your room and you are doing great! I think Mom and Dad are sleeping better as well.

*You are actually eating a little less than you were. For about a week you were taking 5 oz bottles at every feeding and then you dropped back down to 4 oz. Must have been a growth spurt!

*You are still such a good baby and we are having so much fun watching you change and grow, but SLOW IT DOWN little lady, we are enjoying you being little and I know it will fly by!

Today I put in my notice. There were a lot of details leading up to this event, but nonetheless I am so blessed and excited to get to stay home with Isabel.
And I am so appreciative of my husband who made it possible. Love you, dear.

How much difference a year makes....

I follow a blog of a sweet girl who found out today that she isn't pregnant after her first IVF. She is devastated of course and as I was trying to leave a comment to tell her that I am sorry, it dawned on me that this date sounds familiar for a reason.

Exactly 1 year ago today, I found out I wasn't pregnant in the form of a phone call from my RE's office. It was our first attempt at IVF and we had been through so much. I remember feeling absolutely defeated.

And here, exactly 1 year later....I have a beautiful, 7 week old little girl.
So for those of you who are still trying to become a mother, please never lose hope. You have no idea how much difference a year, or even two can make.

God is good.

I went back to work so now I have time to blog again....

Okay, I have actually been back since Monday. I had a lot of people check up on me because they knew I was dreading going back, but thus far it hasn't been *too* bad. For one, Isabel is staying with my Mom on the days my husband works and with him on the days he is off, (he works 2 days on 2 days off) so I haven't had to deal with a daycare type situation.

And from here on out this post gets pretty random:

I have had a ton of people ask me what we are going to "call" Isabel. Ummm, I am pretty sure we will call her by her name. lol
Why is it that everyone thinks that she needs a nickname or a shorter version of Isabel? It's not like I named her Supercalifragalisticexpialladocious....in which I would probably call her, Super...because who doesn't want to be called that?

It's HOT outside. Like 90's all last week and this week. But you won't get any complaints from me because I was sick.to.death of the rain. Bring on the heat baby, I LOVE Summer! Now I just have to find a turtleneck, ankle length swimsuit for this lovely post-baby body of mine. But that's a whole other post.

My husband is training for the Pike's Peak Marathon. This isn't his first marathon, but this is his first to train for with a wife working full time and an infant at home. OH man....

Last but not least, having a baby makes you pretty popular at Wal.Mart. Never in my life have I had the urge to walk up to a complete stranger, touch their baby, and make weird noises. I would kinda like it if that was a mutual thing. Yes, my baby is cute...I won't deny it, but no touchey. I don't know where your hands have been and if I did, I probably wouldn't like it. I also do not want you to ask me if I am breast.feeding. I really don't see how it pertains to you. lol
