It's Go Time

Triggered Last night, Retrieval Tomorrow. Here we go....

Also--the needles for the Progesterone shots are wigging me out. Someone tell me that they feel like a feather when you stab them into your buttcheek....someone tell me that, please.

I need valium.

I am trying not to be a total spaz, but I am scared to death I am going to screw something up. I work at a desk where I am free to roam the Internet and I cannot for the life of me stay off of it long enough to do some actual work, which just keeps piling higher and higher. I read ALL of your blogs and especially those who did/are doing IVF and I keep going to older posts to read your experiences so that I will know what to expect. I have issues.

Anywho--I had an appt this morning and Dr. P (God Bless Him) was happy with what he saw as far as follicles go. I have several that are measuring around 11 and apparently that's pretty good for now. So I am good with that and I am just waiting to call my PRN to find out my bloodwork results and what to do next. So--I started reading about some of you who stimmed for like 10 or 11 days and I am adding up in my head how much Follistim is left. Well--not enough, I will tell you that right now. I have about 5 shots left, meaning 2 more days after today, which will put me on Day 9 which is not Day 10 or 11. Grrrr. I just want to see into the future. And there I am all spazzing out. So I guess I will just spaz for a couple more hours until I find out something and then give my weekly freakout call to my IVF nurse if I have some sort of questions. (which I will)

Side effects thus far:
1) I am getting a little crampy--not too bad yet. Dr. P (the one that God is blessing) says I will start to feel more and more uncomfortable with each passing day. There's something to look forward to, although the magic wand is becoming more and more irritating with my ever swelling ovaries, so I am thinking I will be dreading that. Not like I enjoy it already.
2) HEADACHES. Omg, I have had a constant headache for like 5 days straight. Of course, I am only allowed to take Tylenol, which I think is helping for like 10 minutes at a time and then the headache is back. It's not unbearable, life goes on.
3) Weird appetite issues. I am about to rip apart a Taco Bell at one moment and then the very next, I cannot think of a single thing that I want to eat. I had to get up at 5 this morning to drive to Tulsa. (2 hours) So far I have had 2 bites of a granola bar (only because I have to eat with the Dexamethason) and a coffee. I feel sickly, yet I cannot think of one single thing that I want for lunch. And this is causing cooking to be even less enjoyable because I can't come up with anything to cook because NOTHING sounds good. haha--I would like to lose my appetite all together, so let's hope for that. :)

Ok--you've endured enough whining. If IVF works this will all be worth it. Fingers crossed.
Now I am off to find a sammich (barf) or something before I pass out. haha

RE Update!

My estrogen levels were "great" and I made all of the follicles that they want me to make. BUT...they still want me to take Follistim for 2 more days and that confuses me a little...I guess they know more about it than me, Ha!
Anyway, I will take that good news and hope that Thursday's appointment goes well too.

Can't think of a creative title for this.

Is it really Monday again? AGAIN? I feel like time is flying by in some aspects and DRAGGING by in other aspects. It's a weird feeling. Had a good weekend--I had originally planned to stay at home and just clean and watch movies since hub was going to be at work all weekend, but I got suckered into playing a softball tournament on Saturday instead. We'll call it my "Going out of Business" tournament, because I don't plan on playing ball for the next say...10 months or so, right?? Right??? I maybe should have ended my career last weekend because I played much better in that tournament and I could've gone out on a better note. Ha!

Sunday, I actually did stay home and watched movies and somewhat cleaned the house. Why oh why did I rent The Time Travelers Wife? I knew going into it that I am too hormonal for that crap. Oh well...

So far no side effects from the Follistim. I guess I expected to be tired or bruised or something, and for now I just feel normal. Today was Day 4 of the shots...so maybe it's still early. They are going okay--not as bad as I expected although, I did learn that being in a hurry and injecting the cold medicine does sting a little more than giving it some time to warm up!!!! But in a way, it makes me wonder if I am doing them right? I almost feel like I need to feel some effects in order to know that it is working! I hate that scaredy cat feeling that I have about 90% of the time!!!!

Appt with RE tomorrow. Please pray for good things.
Have a good week.

I'm a Survivor!

I survived my first shot. Woohoo! I did it myself and everything. I felt queasy going into it, but it really wasn't too bad. 1 down 5743975394763947 to go... ugh.

Here we go...

My levels were good and I have the go ahead to start my Follistim shots on Friday. What a relief!!! Thanks for the prayers and wish me luck with this whole poking myself with a needle thing!!! Any tips that you want to give are greatly appreciated!
Also--my doctor hasn't really given me a list of no-no's other than what medicines I can and cannot take during the shots/IVF process. Can I play sports? Can I drink caffeine? I have a lot of questions....I guess I might have to give the nurse a call or this will drive me crazy!

Happy Mothers Day! (on Sunday)

I was going to get all sappy about how awesome my Mom is, but I took the time to realize that about 98% of the people who read my blog are dealing with some MAJOR hormones for one reason or another (including myself) so I am not going to do that to any of us...but I do need to give a little shoutout. I couldn't have asked for a better Mother (or best friend) if I had tried! Thank you for everything and Happy Mother's Day MOM!!!!

On a completely different and a little bit random note: My husband is hilarious. He makes me laugh every single day. There are days that I would like to kick him right in the shin, but most of the time we get along very well. :)
So....my husband has the day off today and I do not. I am not a morning person at ALL! He very much is...and so is my Chihuahua for that matter and this morning while I am crankily changing clothes a million times to find something that I don't look like a fat cow in...he is throwing a squeaky porcupine toy for my dog to chase over and over again. I don't say anything even though I wish things were quieter. He is also online ordering tires for my Jeep and asking me a million questions about what kind I want. I honestly have never cared about anything less in my life ESPECIALLY at 6:30 a.m....haha, so finally I tell him that I just need him to be quiet until I can leave the house and also, would he bring me a Diet Coke? Haha. Poor guy.
Anyway....fast forward to 9:00 a.m. and he calls me to let me know that he ordered my tires, (Hallelujah--I won't have to talk about it anymore) and then he starts whispering that he has to let me go....I don't have a clue why he needed to whisper, but I said ok.

9:10, I receive a text picture of a dead mole. Yep...he apparently had to get off the phone to play whack-a-mole in my front yard and then he thought I needed to see the result. LOL--today is going to be a long day. :)

Please say a little prayer that my baseline u/s goes well on Monday. I would really like to start injecting myself soon. ha.

Have a great weekend.
